2015 Cuvee Le Bec
2015 Cuvee Le Bec

A magnificent Cuvee le Bec vintage crafted with 43% Grenache, 35% Syrah, 14% Mourvedre, and 8% Counoise, the blend leans heavily on Grenache compared to the Syrah-dominate 2013 and 2014 vintages. The flavors and aromas are brighter with more red-spectrum fruits, and complex layers of spices, earth, and pepper. A very elegant blend, this vintage shows a little higher acidity which keeps the wine bright and helps to lengthen the very long finish. Honestly, one of my favorite Cuvee le Bec’s to date! Enjoy from 2017 – 2024. Click here to watch our winemaker describe this wine.

"The nose is a dense earth, graphite and spice. The palate is firm graphite, currant and aromatic violets. Lots of texture and weight. Surprising it isn’t more approachable early. Drink 2019 - 2024."

"The 2015 Cuvée Le Bec, Steve Beckmen's entry-level red, is quite tasty. In this vintage, Grenache set was more generous than the Syrah, where yields were decimated. The ripeness of the year comes through nicely in the intense dark cherry fruit, tobacco and licorice flavors. Drink 2017 - 2020."

"A blend of 43% Grenache, 35% Syrah, 14% Mourvèdre and 8% Counoise, the 2015 Cuvée le Bec has a medium garnet-purple color and is scented of cherry pie, raspberry preserves and spice cake with hints of potpourri, baking spices and black pepper. Full-bodied and decadently fruited in the mouth, the spicy red berry preserves flavors are well-framed by rounded tannins and just enough freshness, finishing long and peppery. Drink 2017 - 2021."

"A wine that always seems to over deliver, the 2015 Cuvee le Bec (43% Grenache, 35% Syrah, 14% Mourvèdre and 8% Counoise aged 16 months in 10% new French oak) presents a vibrant ruby color along with a crisp, pure bouquet of blackberries, blueberries, violets and pepper. Elegant, silky and layered, it's certainly the most elegant, though concentrated, vintage of this cuvée I've tasted."
